Mumbai, April 2025 – The Indian Hotels Company Limited (IHCL), India’s largest hospitality company, has significantly expanded its footprint by adding 100 new hotel locations in FY2025. This includes 74 new signings and 26 hotel openings, bringing the company’s total portfolio to 380 properties.
The growth aligns with IHCL’s strategic vision “Accelerate 2030,” which targets a 700-hotel portfolio over the next five years. The company now boasts an industry-leading pipeline of 137 hotels under development.
“FY25 marked a milestone year for IHCL with a record 74 hotel signings, driven by strong brand equity and sustained demand across segments,” said Ms. Suma Venkatesh, Executive Vice President – Real Estate & Development, IHCL. “Our Gateway and Ginger brands saw significant traction, reflecting rapid growth in India’s upscale and midscale hospitality markets. Additionally, Ginger crossed the 100-hotel mark, and Vivanta surpassed 50 hotels.”
As part of its international expansion, IHCL also entered new markets in the Middle East, launching Taj-branded properties in Bahrain and Ras Al Khaimah with over 800 keys, further strengthening its presence in the region.
Ms. Deepika Rao, Executive Vice President – Hotel Openings & New Businesses, highlighted that 26 hotels opened in the past year across diverse locations. “Ginger led the way with nine openings in commercial hubs like Nagpur and Coimbatore, industrial centers like Jamshedpur, and leisure destinations such as Srinagar, Udaipur, and Diu,” she said.
IHCL also made strategic moves in spiritual and emerging destinations, including the launch of a Taj resort in Puri and boutique properties under SeleQtions and Gateway in Diu. Notably, the company opened a 111-key Taj hotel at Cochin International Airport and introduced the Taj brand in state capitals Dehradun and Patna.
