Tata AutoComp to acquire IAC Sweden

Tata AutoComp Systems has revealed plans to acquire International Automotive Components Group Sweden AB (IAC Sweden), marking a strategic move to enhance its footprint in Europe and solidify its ties with leading European OEMs across both passenger and commercial vehicle sectors.

With a robust turnover of approximately $800 million, IAC Sweden is renowned for its expertise in manufacturing high-quality interior systems and components. This acquisition, which is still awaiting regulatory approvals in Europe, is set to further elevate Tata AutoComp’s position as one of India’s largest and most dynamic automotive component manufacturers. While the financial specifics of the deal remain undisclosed, Tata AutoComp emphasizes that this move is key to strengthening its presence in the European market, particularly among established global automakers.

Arvind Goel, Vice Chairman of Tata AutoComp Systems, shared his thoughts on the acquisition, saying, “This strategic step aligns perfectly with our long-term vision to expand our global reach and deepen our partnerships with European OEMs.”

IAC Sweden operates three state-of-the-art production facilities in Lassby, Fargelanda, and Skara, where its team of around 1,500 skilled professionals plays a critical role in serving major customers such as Volvo Cars, Volvo Trucks, and Scania. Specializing in plastic molding, precision painting, and assembly of interior components, IAC Sweden offers strong synergy potential for Tata AutoComp, which is poised to leverage these capabilities in advancing its product portfolio.

As a subsidiary of the prestigious Tata Group, Tata AutoComp Systems has built a solid reputation in the global automotive component market. Its diverse offerings span a wide range of sectors, from passenger and commercial vehicles to electric mobility, two- and three-wheelers, tractors, and industrial applications—positioning the company as a forward-thinking leader in the industry.
